South Korea Travel Guide: Ancient Soul, Digital Heart
From millennial temples to K-Pop: Discover a culture like no other.
South Korea: Harmony of Contrasts
South Korea is a land of striking contrasts. It is a place where futuristic skyscrapers tower over centuries-old royal palaces, and where cutting-edge technology coexists with deeply rooted Buddhist traditions. From the frenetic energy of Seoul to the serene tea plantations of Boseong and the volcanic beaches of Jeju, Korea offers a rich and surprising travel experience. It is safe, clean, and incredibly well-organized—a perfect destination for lovers of culture, nature, and food.
Our Experience
Don’t miss a night at a “Templestay.” It’s a unique opportunity to share the life of Buddhist monks, participate in tea ceremonies, and meditate at dawn. An unforgettable interlude of serenity.

The Climate Puzzle
4 distinct seasons. Summer is heavy and rainy; winter is dry and very cold.
- Spring (April-June): Magnificent with cherry blossoms. Mild temperatures.
- Autumn (September-November): The best season. Blue skies, crisp air, and fiery maple foliage.
- Summer (July-August): Very hot and humid (monsoon). Crowded.
- Winter (December-March): Siberian cold but clear blue skies. Ideal for skiing or hot baths.
Our Tip
To see cherry blossoms without the crowds of Yeouido (Seoul), head to Seokchon Lake or the town of Jinhae for its spectacular festival.
Getting Around & Sleeping
Transport
The network is ultra-efficient. Impeccable subway in Seoul, KTX (High-Speed Train) to cross the country. Express buses are also very comfortable. Important: Google Maps does not work well here; download Naver Map.
Sleeping
Hanok (traditional house) for authenticity, modern hotels, or “Love Motels” (kitschy but clean and cheap). Hostels are top-notch.
Time to Eat! Local Specialties
A cuisine with character, healthy and often spicy.
- Kimchi: Spicy fermented cabbage, served at every meal. The soul of Korean cuisine.
- Bibimbap: A hot bowl of rice with vegetables, meat, egg, and chili paste, to be mixed by yourself.
- Bulgogi: Thin slices of marinated beef grilled at the table BBQ.
- Tteokbokki: Rice cakes in a spicy red sauce, the quintessential street food.
