Egypt: The Cradle of Civilization

Egypt is a destination that defies imagination. Standing at the foot of the Pyramids of Giza feels like touching eternity. Sailing the Nile on a felucca at sunset offers a moment of absolute serenity. But Egypt is also the vibrant chaos of Cairo, the scent of spices in the souks, and the incredible richness of the Red Sea’s coral reefs. It is an intense, cultural, and transformative journey that stays with you forever.

Our Experience

Don’t just stick to the Valley of the Kings! Head to the Valley of the Nobles and the Valley of the Artisans (Deir el-Medina). The tombs here are smaller, but the wall paintings depicting daily life are incredibly vivid, colorful, and often much better preserved than the royal tombs.

5 Reasons to Pack Your Bags

  • The Pyramids: The only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing. A unique emotional experience.
  • The Red Sea: Accessible and preserved coral reefs, ranked among the best diving spots in the world.
  • The Nile: The country’s lifeline. A cruise between Luxor and Aswan is literally a voyage through time.
  • The History: Temples, tombs, museums… the archaeological wealth is simply endless.
  • The Hospitality: Despite the hustle of tourist areas, Egyptians are legendary for their kindness and humor.

Where to Stay?

Key stops from the Nile Delta to Nubia.

Pyramids of Giza Egypt

Logistics (Stress-Free)

Passport valid for 6 months + Visa required ($25 USD, cash on arrival or e-Visa beforehand).

Health

“Pharaoh’s Revenge” (stomach bug) is common. Drink strictly bottled water only. No mandatory vaccines.

The Weather Puzzle

Desert climate: scorching summers, mild winters. The sun shines year-round.

  • Winter (October to April): The best season. Pleasant temperatures (68-77°F / 20-25°C), perfect for visiting temples without suffocating. Nights can be cool.
  • Summer (May to September): Scorching (104°F+ / 40°C+). Tough for sightseeing (start at 5 AM!), but perfect for diving in the Red Sea.
  • Shoulder Season: March-April and October-November are the perfect compromises.

Insider Tip

In winter, pack a light jacket or sweater for the evenings. The wind on the Nile deck can be surprisingly chilly once the sun goes down!

Getting Around & Sleeping

Transport

In cities: Uber (in Cairo) is the safest and easiest option. Between cities: Domestic flights or trains. The Nile Cruise is the ultimate way to travel south.

Sleeping

From legendary historic hotels (like the Old Cataract) to all-inclusive coastal resorts or small local guesthouses. Prices are very competitive.

Local Food & Drink

Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, rich in vegetables and spices.

  • Koshari: The ultimate comfort food. A mix of rice, pasta, lentils, chickpeas, fried onions, and spicy tomato sauce. Carb heaven.
  • Ful Medames: Stewed fava beans, traditionally served for breakfast with oil, lemon, and baladi bread.
  • Ta’ameya: The Egyptian falafel, made with fava beans instead of chickpeas—greener and crispier!
  • Om Ali: A delicious dessert, similar to bread pudding, made with milk, nuts, raisins, and cream.
