Bulgaria: The Slavic Soul of the Balkans

Bulgaria is a land of fascinating contrasts, where history is written on every street corner. From Thracian ruins to Roman amphitheaters, Byzantine churches to communist-era architecture, the country is an open book on the past. But it is also an exceptional nature destination, with wild mountains (Rila, Pirin) that delight hikers, and a sunny coastline that attracts vacationers. Add to that a very affordable cost of living and sincere hospitality, and you have one of the most promising destinations in Eastern Europe.

Our Experience

Don’t miss Plovdiv, the 2019 European Capital of Culture. Its “Kapana” district is a maze of artistic alleys, trendy cafes, and crafts, all set upon spectacular Roman ruins. A truly unique atmosphere!

5 Reasons to Pack Your Bags

  • The Rila Monastery: An architectural and spiritual masterpiece nestled in the mountains, with unforgettable colorful frescoes.
  • Ancient Plovdiv: One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe, with its intact Roman theatre.
  • The Black Sea: From Varna to Sozopol, fine sandy beaches and a festive or family-friendly summer atmosphere.
  • The Valley of Roses: In May-June, the Kazanlak region is fragrant with the Damascus rose, of which Bulgaria is the world’s leading producer.
  • The Budget: Enjoy a stay rich in discoveries and gastronomy without breaking the bank.
